Share your favourite picture books with young children as imaginative yoga journeys! Discover how to transform well-loved stories, such as the The Hungry Caterpillar, into a magical world of movement! Children’s yoga fully supports all Te Whāriki curriculum strands and can reinforce literacy, problem-solving, cultural knowledge and numeracy.
Learn how to guide children in active storytelling using yoga role-play, songs, breath awareness and relaxation.
Update – due to omicron in the community, our group will be limited to 10 fully vaccinated participants. Interactive poses will be modified and we will adopt recommended spacing. Should we feel the need to cancel the event completely, you will be fully refunded and have first preference to attend future live workshops. But let’s hope for a fun-filled workshop in one very generous and well-ventilated room!!
This practical, full-day children’s yoga training is designed for education professionals and storytellers interested in exploring the holistic fun and benefits of Story Yoga for children aged 2 – 6+ years. Also an ideal introductory training for yoga teachers and parents wanting to share yoga creatively with children! Active participation is required, although no yoga experience necessary.

“This workshop was a definite “aha!!” moment. ‘Storybook Yoga’ ticks all the boxes for best early years practice in a really fun and engaging format. We all know the ‘why’s’… Here I learnt the ‘how’s’!! I absorbed so much invaluable information and so many creative ideas, got to practise within the workshop and will go home armed with a useful framework for introducing my classes to the fun of Yoga. Just brilliant!“
